Chapter: 3

From last chapter: "PLAN SUCCESSFUL"

"Aab jaiye aap dono ready ho jaiye jaldi seeeeee..." says Krish trying to sound enthusiastic but with a playful tone that made everyone smile.

"Aur zyada time mat lagana" said Ansh getting sharp glares from both the girls...!!!

Both the girls move towards their room.

Within 15 minutes both of them came down in the same jersey as the boys with hair tied in ponytails.

Ansh smiled involuntarily watching Jeevika descend the stairs, her face, bright with anticipation, while Krish high-fived both of them excitedly, a wide grin spreading across his face. The bond of friendship and the thrill of the day was palpable in the air.

Both Krish and Maahi dramatically say... "Chaloooooooooooo" and ran outside to take out the bicycles.

Ansh also took the water bottle he filled while the girls were getting ready, in case they need it while going to Cantonment. It was a small gesture, but it reflected his concern for their safety.

Jeevika also took house keys and starts closing the door.

Meanwhile Ansh went towards Maahi to take the dependent cards she was holding.

(A/N: Dependent card is made for the nuclear family of the person who is in Army to get entry in the Cantonment area)

"Bhaiyu mai isko apne pocket me rakh lungi naa" Maahi said.

"Nahi baccha abhi aap chhote ho naa, muje dedo mai rakh lunga apne pass" Ansh said, kneeling down to her level to ensure she understood..

"Please naa Bhaiyu dekhiye naa aab to mai badi to gayi hu... mai to 5th class me jaane wali hu naa" Maahi says dramatically.

"Han bacche aap bohot bade ho gaye ho but aapke trouser ke jo pockets hain na vo chhote reh gaye hain... to isko mai apne pocket me rakh leta hu..." Ansh said patiently making Maahi agree.

"Chhoti bacchi hai tu abhi bhi" Krish chimed in, teasing Maahi, who then made a sulking pout, crossing her arms

"Chalo tum bhi apna card idhar do Krish" Says Ansh while Krish agrees but not before saying... "Dadaaa" which makes Maahi giggle.

Ansh roams his eyes to see Jeevika still struggling with the lock... this usual scene makes him chuckle.

He walked over to her not before giving the water bottle to Maahi, asking her to keep it in her bicycle basket.

The two kids again started bickering—this time over who would carry the water bottle—making Ansh smile again at their innocence and fussiness.

He moves toward Jeevika saying... "Kya hua Miss Jaanlewa, aaj kya iss lock ki shaamat aayi hai"

Jeevika doesn't say anything, just kept trying to figure out how to lock the gate...

Ansh smiles seeing her pout and scrunched eyebrows, finding her determined expression adorable.

"Lao idhar do chabhi, mai batata hu kaise karna hai" said Ansh, offering to help.

Jeevika looked up at him sheepishly, pointing her finger towards the lock where the key was stuck, tangled in a terrible manner. Her eyes reflected a mix of frustration and trust.

Ansh smiled patiently and leaned toward the lock, not before giving a small flick on Jeevika's forehead playfully.

"Ouchh, dard hota hai, Daanav Kahi ke...!!!" she exclaimed, rubbing her forehead.

But watching Ansh carefully working on the lock and key makes Jeevika lean more towards... the lock ofcourse... (kyu aap logo ko kya laga)

Her gaze was fixed on his hands, admiration shining in her eyes.

Just at that same time Ansh, who was done with locking the gate turns right side (jis side Jeevika thi).

It felt the the time went slower and slower and slower...

Their faces... merely apart from each other.

Their eyes met—black, deep, and full of unspoken feelings, as if the entire universe was contained within those moments. Jeevika’s cheeks turned a faint shade of pink, and Devansh’s neck warmed with a blush. Both feeling a flutter of butterflies.

Just then, a loud voice interrupted the quiet tension, breaking the spell...
